This is Music

TIM (This is Music) is a music school for adults who wish to pursue their musical interests, or even just “get-started” with exploring some music making.  We very much look forward to welcoming adult students of all levels in our cozy downtown studio - in Toronto's Little Italy.  Featuring private lessons and small group classes, TIM's fall programs will begin in late September, with limited capacity.

TIM is also the name of our great music teacher, known for his fun approach and dynamic personality, and he’s been doing it for almost four decades. Tim Posgate is a multi-instrumentalist  (guitar, banjo, mandolin, electric bass) as well as a teacher and has as much or more passion for music than anybody you will ever meet.  He has an honours degree in Jazz Performance from York University, eight commercially released recordings as a leader or co-leader and has performed at music festivals in Canada, the U.S. and Europe. Currently he is performing in a number of Toronto based rock/folk and world-music ensembles including So Long Seven, Ronley Teper’s Lipliners and and the Tim Posgate Jazz Banjo project to name a few.  Tim loves to play some Tom Petty or the Beatles or teach some music theory. So get ready to have fun making music!
